« Butinage » by Nelly Saunier: birds made out of feathers and composite material

We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with feather artist Nelly Saunier on a spectacular feather sculpture. Invited to participate in the WONDER LAB living treasures of France exhibition held at the Tokyo National Museum in Autumn 2017, Master of Art Nelly Saunier created a collection of intensely poetic feather sculptures. The artist asked us to create the 3D pieces – shaped like birds – on which her majestic "Butinage" sculpture rests. The pieces had to combine the three major features that the artist needed: flexibility, lightness and solidity.
